This quarter I read the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan. I am going to do this entry about the last book, called Percy Jackson And The Olympians, The Last Olympian. This book talks about a demigod, son of Poseidon,( the sea god in Greek mythology ), and other demigods from other Olympians had to defend New York City, where modern Olympus is located, from the titan army lead by Kronos. The Titan is using a mortal body during the battle because he has not complete power to turn into his normal form, but his human body, ( the one from Luke Castellan, the son of Hermes), had the curse of Achilles, so he is almost impossible to kill, he has only one weak spot. Percy noticed this problem and had to go to the Underworld and bath in the River Styx, so he had was in the same conditions as Luke ( Kronos). Then a group of about 60 demigods and some Centaurs had to battle a full army of thousands of monsters that wanted to destroy Olympus without the Gods, that had problems of their own with another titan. The main problem is the monster army that wanted to destroy Olympus. The protagonist is Percy and the antagonist is Kronos. The setting of the book is New York where the battle is held.
I like this series, mostly this book because is a book that always makes you want to read more. A good thing is that is about Greek Mythology and you learn a lot about the gods and their stories. The book would had been better if Kronos died in a fight with Percy and not haw he did, killed by his own mortal body that took control for a a little time and staved himself on the weak spot and killed his controller. I would recommend this book to people who like mythology and action books but is a book that I think almost everybody would enjoy.
